Student bursaries sponsored by Highfield Healthcare: for TCD School of Nursing and Midwifery undergraduate students

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to apply for a student bursary to attend the Trinity Health and Education International Research Conference on 6 and 7 March 2019. Attending conferences is a great way to hear and meet experts in your field, presenting cutting edge research and the latest innovations in practice. It is a unique opportunity to network with your peers and exchange knowledge on a personal level and can have a positive and lasting impact on your career.

Highfield Healthcare (www.highfieldhealthcare.ie) is sponsoring five student bursaries for the conference and the winners will be awarded full registration for both days of the conference, including the conference dinner on Wednesday evening in the Trinity City Hotel. At the dinner you will have the opportunity to meet with academic staff, keynote speakers and other delegates.

To be eligible to apply you must be a Trinity College School of Nursing and Midwifery BSc Nursing student (general or mental health) in Junior or Senior Sophister year.

To apply for the bursary:

  • submit a 200-300 word essay focussing on one issue that will influence or impact mental health or older person care/nursing into the future;
  • your application should be on a Word document and include your name and TCD student number;
  • email the document to THEConf@tcd.ie;
  • closing date for submission is 11pm on Friday 8 February.

The winners of the bursaries will be required to meet with the team from Highfield Healthcare at the conference. Following the conference, a visit Highfield Healthcare will be arranged so you can meet their team and see first-hand the services offered. This is a wonderful opportunity and we would encourage you all to consider applying. Successful applicants can include that they are recipients of a competitively awarded bursary on both their CV and in their portfolio.

Student bursaries sponsored by EIT Health: for all M.Sc. and Ph.D. students

EIT-Health

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to apply for a student bursary to attend the Trinity Health and Education International Research Conference on 6 and 7 March 2019. The conference is run by the School of Nursing and Midwifery and will be held in our building on D’Olier Street.

Attending conferences is a great way to hear and meet experts in your field, presenting cutting edge research and the latest innovations in practice. It is a unique opportunity to network with your peers, exchange knowledge on a personal level and can have a positive and lasting impact on your career.

EIT Health (www.eithealth.eu/) are sponsoring ten student bursaries for the conference and the winners will be awarded full registration for both days of the conference including the conference dinner on Wednesday evening in the Trinity City Hotel (four star hotel in the centre of Dublin http://www.trinitycityhotel.com/). At the dinner you will have the opportunity to meet with academic staff, keynote speakers and other delegates.

There are three additional bursaries available which include conference registration, a ticket to the conference dinner, and a contribution to your travel costs, if you live at least 80kms from Dublin or outside of Ireland.

To be eligible to apply you must be a registered M.Sc. or Ph.D. student.

To apply for the bursary:

  • submit a 200-300 word summary of an innovative and novel product or service you would develop to improve societal health focussing on one of the following issues: 
    • Bringing Care Home (how to reduce the hospital burden)
    • Behavioural Change (how to modify lifestyle to prevent early onset of disease and disability)
  • your application should be on a Word document;
  • include your name, the HEI that you are registered with, the programme / course you are registered for and your student number;
  • email the document to THEconference@tcd.ie;
  • closing date for submission is 11pm on Friday 8 February.

The winners of the bursaries will be required to attend an EIT Health information session which will be held during the conference (please refer to updated agenda) and sign up to the EIT Health mailing list to ensure you can be kept up-to-date on upcoming opportunities and projects you can collaborate on. This is a wonderful opportunity and we would encourage you all to consider applying.
